Jun7at7 2020 – Surfing anonymously and with little trace

Sunday, 7. June 2020
19:00 - 21:00
Langstrasse 200, 8005 Zurich

After May’s online course on basic computer security and evaluation of messengers and video conference tools, the Digitale Gesellschaft offers a second online course on surfing anonymously and with little trace.

After explaining the traces that are left behind when surfing online, we will deal with their removal: We neutralize cookies, install a tracking blocker and eliminate local traces. In the second part, we’ll look at anonymous, secure, and censorship-resistant communication using Tor and install the Tor browser. The workshop will take about 90 minutes. There will be time for questions and discussions afterwards.

In order to be able to apply the tips right away, you will need to have Firefox installed.

The online course will take place on the BigBlueButton web conferencing and e-learning server hosted by Digitale Gesellschaft, accessible at this link

For a smooth process we ask you to arrive in the room a few minutes before. If you do not have any experience with BigBlueButton, we will be there for you from 18:30 to help with any technical problems and to allow everyone to participate.

To stay updated with the organization of this event and to help us better prepare, please register by sending an e-mail to 7(at)7at7.ch.

Note: Presentation language is German, but participation in English for comments and questions is possible
