Global Encryption Day 2026: Post-Quantum Cryptography & GNU Taler

Friday, 6. November 2026
04:00 - 07:00
Schlösslistrasse 5, 3008 Bern

To mark Global Encryption Day, ISOC Switzerland invites you to an afternoon on the future of encryption.

Large-scale quantum computers are expected to break much of the public-key encryption we rely on today. Join us to explore the quantum threat and the post-quantum cryptography (PQC) being developed to secure our digital future.

We will also present GNU Taler, a free and open-source payment system showing that user privacy and regulatory compliance don’t have to be a trade-off. We’ll look at how Taler is adopting PQC so that payments stay private and unlinkable as the quantum shift arrives.

Programme

  • GNU Taler as a measure against financial surveillance
  • Post-quantum cryptography: preparing for tomorrow
  • Apéro and drinks

Organized by the Internet Society Switzerland Chapter with the support of Global Encryption Coalition
