Meet the NGIO Commons Fund
The ISOC Switzerland Chapter is one of the partners of the Horizon Europe project NGI0 Commons Fund, which started on January 1st 2024. The project is part of the NGI0 coalition, led by NLnet Foundation, which uses a very flexible cascading funding scheme that enables a large number of carefully curated small grants (between 5 000 and 50 000 euro).
The role of ISOC Switzerland Chapter in the project is to develop comprehensive guides (the so-called “tech dossiers”) for a selected set of topics for which free and open source software offers viable alternatives to commercial products, including tools, applications, and platforms that are evolving with the support of NGI0 to become the base of a more resilient, sovereign, and energy-efficient Next Generation Internet.
On December 13, 2024, at 18:00 we invite the ISOC-CH community at the L200 space in Zurich to learn more about the NGI0 Commons Fund and the important role of ISOC-CH in the dissemination of free software solutions to a wider audience.
