Teaching the teachers about FLOSS software: real-life experiences

In the context of the NGI0 project, ISOC-CH organizes an encounter between the University of Zurich and the CIRCE collective, which both offer courses for teachers related to digital empowerment, in Switzerland and Italy respectively.

During this discussion, we would like to pose some important questions, to which we will keep returning during our work at NGI0 Commons Fund.

This is our initial list:

• What are the most important mental/institutional barriers for introducing FLOSS principles at school?
• Which are the most notable success stories?
• What are the most attractive topics to start with? Privacy? Collaborative work? AI?
• How to balance the need to explain the FLOSS technology and the need to reduce screen time and dependence on technology?

This is a small hybrid encounter, which you can join online mostly as observer. Wider discussions will be organized soon.
