19 May – Ransomware Information Day

ISOC-CH is supporting the Internet Security Awareness Campaign and has endorsed the 19 May activities to raise awareness about the risk of ransomware. Ransomware is a type of malware that can infect computers without the knowledge of the user and block/restrict access to files, making it conditional upon the payment of a ransom to malware operators to get control back.  However, paying the ransom may not give you back your files in all cases and it is not recommended.
