From the 2016 European Chapters meeting, Madrid

The Internet Society organized a meeting of the European Chapters in Madrid on 14 April 2016, and ISOC-CH participated in that meeting.  The meeting focused on discussions of encryption, content blocking and experiences of interacting with the government and/or regulators.  Many chapters are facing the same issues that we are facing in Switzerland: new laws related to surveillance/lawful interception and proposals to block content (such as gambling, copyright violation, etc.).  Some countries are also considering restrictions on encryption.  Switzerland is unique in terms of interacting with the government because of the possibility of organizing a referendums on new laws.

The presentations made at the meeting can be found here.
