The Global Citizens’ Dialogue on the Future of Internet is a global initiative to bring citizens’s voice to global Internet Governance organized by Missions Publiques and implemented in Switzerland by Internet Society Switzerland Chapter.

Held in over 70 territories worldwide, it is the largest citizen consultation on the Internet ever. Citizens from all walks of life will gather in Europe, Africa, South America, North America and Asia to discuss about the most pressing and significant issue of our time: the future of the Internet.

The Internet plays a vital role in how we see the world, from enabling long distance communications to facilitate learning to capturing acts of strength and courage or shining a light on injustice. Whatever the purpose or the user, access to information has become paramount at local and global levels. But who gets to own our digital identity? How can we be sure of getting high-quality information online? How can we control the limits of artificial intelligence?

Le Dialogue mondial des citoyen(ne)s sur l’avenir de l’Internet est une initiative mondiale visant à faire entendre la voix des citoyens sur la gouvernance mondiale de l’Internet, organisée par Missions Publiques et mise en œuvre en Suisse par l’Internet Society Switzerland Chapter.

Organisé dans plus de 70 territoires du monde entier, il s’agit de la plus grande consultation citoyenne jamais organisée sur l’internet. Des citoyen(ne)s de tous horizons se réuniront en Europe, en Afrique, en Amérique du Sud, en Amérique du Nord et en Asie pour discuter de la question la plus urgente et la plus importante de notre époque : l’avenir de l’internet.

L’internet joue un rôle essentiel dans la façon dont nous voyons le monde, qu’il s’agisse de permettre les communications à longue distance pour faciliter l’apprentissage ou de saisir les actes de force et de courage ou de mettre en lumière l’injustice. Quel que soit le but ou l’utilisateur, l’accès à l’information est devenu primordial aux niveaux local et mondial. Mais à qui appartient notre identité numérique ? Comment pouvons-nous être sûrs d’obtenir des informations de qualité en ligne ? Comment pouvons-nous contrôler les limites de l’intelligence artificielle ?

Der Globale Bürgerdialog über die Zukunft des Internets ist eine von Missions Publiques organisierte globale Initiative zur Einflussnahme von Bürgern auf die globale Steuerung und Regelung des Internets. In der Schweiz wird der Bürgerdialog vom Internet Society Switzerland Chapter durchgeführt.

Mit 70 teilnehmenden Ländern ist dies die grösste globale Bürgerbefragung zum Internet die jemals durchgeführt wurde. Bürger in den verschiedensten Lebenslagen in Europa, Afrika, Südamerika und Asien kommen zusammen, um über eines der wichtigsten und dringlichsten Themen unserer Zeit zu diskutieren: die Zukunft des Internets.

Das Internet spielt eine wichtige Rolle darin, wie wir die Welt sehen. Indem es Kommunikation und Lernen über weite Distanzen ermöglicht, Momente der Stärke und Mut erfasst und verbreitet, oder aber auch Ungerechtigkeit ans Licht bringt. Was auch immer der Internetnutzer will, der Zugang zu Information steht heute an oberster Stelle, sei es auf lokaler oder globaler Ebene.

Aber wem gehört unsere digitale Identität? Wie können wir den heute bestehenden Unterschieden beim Zugang zum Internet ein Ende bereiten? Wie können wir sicherstellen, dass wir im Internet qualitativ hochwertige Information finden?
